THINGS TO DO IN MONTREAL

Well, hello guys! I know it’s been AGES since the last time I wrote something here on the blog. However, I feel like 2019 will be (and already is) one of the most exciting years so far (starting with my career, travels and more personal events such as the wedding, which I know, is HUGE). Many of you follow my journey for a long time now and I truly want to share my experiences and the best travel tips here with you!

Talking about traveling, one of my latest trips was to Montreal together with Tourisme Montreal & ZapWater. I’m not sure if I ever shared this with you guys but Montreal has a special place in my heart. My fiance used to study there while we were in a long distance relationship (almost 7 years ago) and it was the first place I’ve visited so far from home. So, when the ZapWater team reached out and offered me to join them and experience Montreal together, I instantly said YES.

Since we’ve been to so many amazing places together, in this blog post I want to share top restaurants & places to go, so you have this handy little list of “THINGS TO DO” just in case you decide to visit Montreal any time soon!

THINGS TO DO

- One of the main goals of our trip was to visit the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts’ Thierry Mugler Couturissime exhibition. It was such an honor to be there with press from all over the world. And of course, Thierry Mugler himself!

I truly didn’t know what to expect, however, this exhibition blew me away. It revealed the multiple sides of this extremely talented artist - designer, director, photographer, and perfumer - in a retrospective of his work. You have to see it yourself!

OTHER EXCITING PLACES

- Natrel Skating Rink (if you go there in the winter time, make sure to dress warm and have fun ice-skating!)
- Bota-Bota SPA (It’s a contemporary spa designed on the old ferry boat. You can find a bunch of different saunas & outside jacuzzis, probably one of my favorite places I’ve ever experienced in Montreal. A MUST both in winter and in summer time)
Observatoire Place Ville Marie (if you visit Montreal for the first time, make sure to come here and see the entire city from the top)
Ssense pop-up (For all fashionistas & coffee lovers)
Ruse Boutique (Luxury consignment store with a great selection of vintage & new pieces)

HOTEL

We’ve stayed in the Fairmont the Queen Elizabeth Hotel. This place is newly renovated, so I absolutely loved the interior, but also the staff was amazing and our entire stay there was just perfect (including an absolutely delicious breakfast).

PLACES TO EAT

  1. Henri Brasserie Francaise (Very instagrammable interior & absolutely delicious food)
  2. Agrikol (cozy place for dinner with unique Haitian cuisine)
  3. Les Enfants Terribles Restaurant (a must-visit restaurant overlooking the entire city!)
  4. Dominion Square Tavern (amazing restaurant with English pub vibes & a huge selection of house-made gins & tonics)
  5. Cafe Parvis (super cute spot for lunch)
  6. Blumenthal (cozy restaurant for dinner with an absolutely delicious dessert)
  7. Ha Restaurant (South East Asian cuisine)
